Ani-specific
Mark of the Unicorn
This orihalcum pendant bears the a modified symbol of Devina, the Maiden aspect of the Goddess. It once belonged to Vasilisa Radov, Anastasia's mother. Yaphyll retrieved it from storage in the Covenant Guild Hall, in order to use its power to free Anastasia from the possession of the Durthan, Nythra Yekatrinovna, who was using her body as a platform for the attempted murder of all Covenant members and their surviving scions.
It has the following abilities:
- Item Type: Amulet
- Patronus Light: 3/day, immediate, emanation 5, 1 round; you emanate brilliant white light. Evil creatures are repelled, and must flee to the extent of range; they may take no action while inside. The spells of evil creatures deflect off the edge of this effect. Neither you nor allies may use hostile abilities while inside this effect; doing so will end it.
- Expecto Patronum: Daily, immediate; you summon a Patronus, an incarnation of hope, joy, and love, to defend you and your allies. It takes the form of a specific animal of significant meaning (in Ani's case: a unicorn). It emanates Patronus Light constantly.
- Each round the Patronus remains, you suffer 1 point of Strain.
- For 1 point of Strain, you may cause the Patronus to remove any effects barring dimensional travel from you or your allies, then teleport you to a safe location within 1 mile/level. This ends the summoning.
Disc of Night
This adamantium disc is a holy symbol dedicated to Yaga, the Crone aspect of the Goddess. It used to belong to Uksar Valik, who received it from Wilhelmina Petrovna; recently, it was claimed by Anastasia, after she vanquished him in magical combat.
It has the following abilities:
- Item Type: Holy Symbol (non-slotted)
- Tenacious Magic: Imbues your spells with 50% dispel resistance.
- Pernicious Magic: Grants you +20% Spell Penetration.
- Insidious Magic: You may use Stealth or Bluff to disguise the magical auras of your spells, even from effects such as Arcane Sight.
Eye of the Watchtower
This large star ruby is cut in the shape of a human eye, and its starburst and deep red core resemble an iris and pupil. It is set into a simple golden headband. It was previously worn by Vaclav Radduk, in his role as coordinator of the Covenant; recently, it was bequeathed to Anastasia.
It has the following abilities:
- Item Type: Headband
- At will, wearer may open a telepathic channel with any Covenant member. The member may refuse this request. If accepted, the channel allows for two-way telepathic communication.
- At the wearer's option, multiple channels may be combined, allowing distant Covenant members to converse with one another through her.
- Also at the wearer's option, the eye may generate images of the Covenant members, which anyone may see and hear; this allows the distant members to see and hear one another as well.
Dearly Beloved
This pendant was formed by the combination of three items:
- Mark of the Unicorn
- Disc of Night
- Eye of the Watchtower
It appears as a spiral of white and black, bearing the triskelion mark of the combined Goddess, with a large, eye-shaped star ruby at its center.
It combines all the powers of its constituent items.
Magic Items
Robes of Blood
Nythra wore these robes during her fel ritual, and while she was evil, they are not inherently so. These blood-red garments would be snugly-fit on a human female, and their revealing cut and flattering design would not suit a male spellcaster.
- Item Type: Robes (Cloth Armor)
- Construction: crushed velvet, satin trim in black and maroon, red silk thread, embroidery in golden thread
- Enchanted: no
- Special property: armor may hold 3 armor-slot enchantments
- By default, the robes are pure white. When worn by a spellcaster, the robes slowly absorb life energy, their color turning more and more red, until they are slaked.
- For this to function, armor must be worn against the skin, without intervening undergarments. Otherwise, wearer's blood cannot transfer into them.
- Once fully slaked, the robes provide the following benefits:
- +20% Soak
- +50% Fortification
- Absorbs 100% of damage caused to self by caster, when using spells which require tapping one's own vitality to function. Armor provides a buffer of temporary hit points equal to 500% of wearer's maximum. This buffer recharges each day. As it is used, the robes become more pale; however, they do not lose their Soak and Fortification bonus when depleted, unless wearer ceases having life energy to contribute.
The Salvation of Goruvok
This staff, wrought of ivory and capped with an angelic visage flanked by six golden wings, was once a fel artifact created by a Netherese warlock who thought to harness the power of the god Garagos, an ancient, primal god of bloodlust and war. The research required to create the staff was his undoing, driving him into madness.
The weapon has since been redeemed and purified, reconsecrated to the Celestial powers.
- Item Type: Staff
- Grants +20 to Critical Chance with spells.
- On a critical hit with any healing or shielding spell, the staff automatically applies one stack of Salvation for 5 rounds.
- Each stack, on turn start, heals the subject for light damage, and grants the subject Absorb 100%, limit light damage, stacking with any other such effects (like Power Word: Shield).
- Once per day, as an immediate action, the staff sprouts six translucent, golden wings, which surround the wielder.
- Each wing may be used to absorb 50% one attack or harmful spell, destroying it.
- Each round, on turn start, you generate a close burst 10, causing enemies to suffer medium holy damage per wing, and allies to be healed for the same amount. This does not destroy any wings.
- Wings last for 3 rounds, or until destroyed.
Heart of Wisdom
This massive, uncut ruby holds a wonderful power. It can be absorbed into one's body, forming a permanent bond that lasts until death (ignoring such temporary concerns as bodily destruction and resurrection). In this way, it is similar to an alchemical flask.
Once the Heart has been absorbed, the user gains the following abilities, permanently:
- +4 inherent bonus to Strength and Constitution
- Immunity to thought and alignment detection magic
- Immunity to sanity damage
- Recharge 33%, immediate; dispel any one hostile mental effect on self.
- Constant blindsight in a 2-square radius.
Mystique
This beautiful longsword is made of eldritch energy, and appears to be crafted of the cosmos itself. Peering into its blade reveals a myriad of stars, nebulae, and astral wonders; staring too long into it can daze the will, as one stares into infinity itself.
- Item Type: Weapon (longsword)
- Customization: Balanced (+20% Hit/Crit)
- Reforged: no
- Enchanted: no
- Final stats: 1h medium Str-based weapon, Hit Chance +20, Hit Power +0, Critical Chance +20, Critical Power +0, Haste +0.
- Grants absorb 50% (arcane), no limit. Each time you absorb arcane damage from an enemy's spells or effects, you gain your choice of the following:
- Gain 50% of spell's energy cost as Energy. (6.7)
- Gain +50% effectiveness with any spell cast in the next 3 rounds (stacks/refreshes).
- Instantly recharge any spell on cooldown, if its availability is more frequent than "encounter".
- Constantly grants Arcane Sight.
- You see all magical auras, and can use Spellcraft to identify them.
- You may use Spellcraft to determine a creature's spellcasting ability (opposed to his Concentration, if he wishes to conceal it).
- Each time you spend a standard action to physically attack with the sword, you gain one stack of Arcane Charge for 3 rounds (stacks/refreshes, max 5):
- Upon casting a spell, all stacks of Arcane Charge are consumed, and your spell gains +50% effectiveness per stack.
Nemesis Ring
This simple golden band turns blood red when the wearer is attacked. It's power is not complicated, but it is terribly useful.
- Item Type: Ring
- On incoming attack, you gain the Retribution buff for 5 rounds, replacing any previous Retribution buffs.
- Recharge 33%, immediate; you consume the Retribution buff, and may use any swift- or free-action spell or maneuver against the enemy who caused you to gain the buff.
